Jeju Peace Forum is a main activity which Jeju promotes the project of Island of World Peace. The purposes of the activity are to draw attentions of the former and current head of state, political leaders, distinguished scholars, journalist and businessmen to Jeju, in order for Jeju to be placed as 'knowledge communities of peace and prosperity on Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia'.

- Dec. 1999- Feb. 2000 China and Australia prepared the written plan for forum foundation
- Jul, 2000 Chinese government decided Boao as the forum place.
