Northeast Peace Research Center
is one of various representative
projects to make Jeju be "island
of World Peace". In 'Common
Statement" selected at
the 1st Jeju Peace Forum successively
held on Jun.15 to 17, 2001
its need as the organization
to operate the continuous
peace forum was emphasized
again, so that a discussion
on its construction began
in earnest.

The purpose of (tentatively
named )Northeast Peace Research
Center is "Building an East-Asia
Peace Community". Based on
Jeju, the research center systematically
studies on disputes and peace,
poverty and prosperity, and the
matter of partition and unity
on international level, Northeastern
level and Korean Peninsula level.
Applying the results to national
policy and peace education, it
will motivate peace, prosperity
and unity. |
