This Peace Museum which includes broad

Gamaoreum learning sites to experience
the underground tunnel. This facility
is expected to be the noted place
to contribute to the world peace and
peace on Korean Peninsula.
The length of underground tunnel opened
to public is 300m out of 2,000m. Its
dimension is height of 160cm-2m and
width of 1.5-3m. There are various
spaces such as around 10 pyeong of
a room assumed to be for the commander,
meeting room, lodgings, medical room
inside the tunnel.
Peace Museum provides with wooden
safety facilities supported the tunnel
passage of 300m. Lighting facilities
are also provided so that visitors
can experience the grim sites at that
time.
At the entrance of the tunnel, 100
pyeong of exhibition room is newly
built in 12,000 pyeong of the site
to display various records which Japanese
army has used. Video room of 100 pyeong
shows verbal evidence about the move
and administration of war facilities
such as powder dump.
Convenient facilities and parking
zone for 100 cars are also provided
at the entrance of tunnel.
The Gamaoreum where Peace Museum is
located is an low oreum of 140.5m
above the sea level. It is formed
by red layers of lava podwer with
sea pine trees and scrubs together.
There is a crater in shape of horseshoe
in the north-eastern area with grass
fields scattered. It is expected to
be a noted place where you can experience
historical site of brutality of Japanese
empire and enjoy nature as well. |
