In 1945 he came back to Korea and
became a teacher at the college
of education. During the Korean
War, he came south as a war painter.
Participating in the new realistic
school, he used to use a foil paper
inside a cigarette pack for painting.
This line drawing on foil paper
is evaluated as a new expression
technique.
Expressing his agony as real he
showed the suffereing of the age,
perfectly understood western arts,
created his characteristic arts,
and then became a representative
of Korean modern paintings. His
major paintings are 'cow', 'white
cow', 'Fighting cock', 'children
and fish and crabs'.
